EDC Updates and Downloads
Welcome to the EDC download page, this site contains all necessary updates for any RightFax product that uses the EDC processing
technology. These products include:
- The RightFax MFP Module
- The RightFax Connector for FileNet P8
- The RightFax XML Generator
Note: It is important to note that EDC updates are required for ALL EDC-based products listed above.
EDC stands for External Document Connector, although it’s commonly known simply as “EDC”. This is a Captaris document processing
engine developed to facilitate integrations between RightFax and other document-centric applications. EDC technology processes
documents using a set of steps called a “DataFlow.” Today, the EDC technology is at the core of the following Captaris RightFax
modules:
- The RightFax MFP Module
- RightFax Connector for FileNet P8
- RightFax Connector for Hummingbird Enterprise DM (now discontinued)
- RightFax XML Generator
The EDC includes management tools called the EDC Monitor, EDC Configurator and EDC Wizard.
Please be sure to apply the latest EDC Feature Packs/Service Releases to all EDC-based RightFax modules or connectors.
EDC 3.0 Feature Pack 1
Captaris announces the availability of EDC 3.0 Feature Pack 1 (FP1) which must be applied to all 3.0 versions of any EDC-based
RightFax module or connectors.
Note: The only product available with a base EDC engine at version 3.0 is the RightFax MFP Module. The XML Generator and FileNet
connectors will release with a 3.0 base in the very near future at which time the EDC feature pack will then be required.

EDC 3.0 Feature Pack 1 Service Release 1
Captaris announces the availability of EDC 3.0 Feature Pack 1 (FP1) Service Release 1 (SR1), which must be applied to all
3.0 versions of any EDC-based RightFax module or connectors. EDC 3.0 Feature Pack1 must be applied prior to installing Service
Release 1 for EDC 3.0 Feature Pack 1.
