RightFax 7.2 Hot Fixes and Patches

A hot fix may contain updates for system reliability, program compatibility, performance improvements, and more.  The following hot fixes and patches should only be applied if the problems identified have occurred on your system.

  • xeroxdcs3.exe (1.78 MB)
Enhancements to the RightFax / Xerox Document Centre Integration Software: RightFax v6.0 and higher support Xerox Document Centres DCS 240, 255 and 265ST. RightFax v7.0 and 7.2 also support DCS 460, 470 and 480. Documents can now be scanned and sent directly to internal RightFax mailboxes from the Document Centre. This is useful for scanning a document or previewing a fax before sending.
  • ANI_HotFix.zip (1.89 MB) 03-19-02
This hot fix fixes the problem with RightFax 7.2 Exchange 5.5 connector and Gateway not passing ANI information to CallXpress.

  • Cluster.zip (252 KB) 12-12-01
    - HPFAX printer cannot communicate with Queue Handler under W2K Clustering Service due to non-support of Named Pipes.
    - Please see the attached document, "Clustering RightFax under Windows 2000"
  • XML&JAVA.zip (261 KB) 11-27-01
    - Java API: Fixed a problem with adding attachments where only the file name (no path) was given. Enhanced the parsing of attachment extensions (which are used to determine type for MIME encoding), to allow any extension. Previously only 3 character extensions were recognized correctly. Fixed a problem with the way the RightFax Java API formatted the XML for the BODY margins. In the previous version, if you used Left and/or Bottom margins, you would get an XML DOM load failure. The XML is now formatted correctly for all body margins.
    - XML: If no XSL is specified, uses the default in the registry. If there is an error while parsing the XML, an {{ERROR}} FCL tag is added so that the document is treated in the same manner as other errored Production documents. Fixes a memory leak. Enhanced functionality for applying a custom XSL, in the same manner as XML for RightFax 8.0. Now properly creates a UniqueID for any document where one was not provided. Corrects extraneous whitespace in the top margin of XML_FAX_SUBMIT.xsl. Corrects a problem with BASE64 encoding of raw text attachments.
    - XML&Java API: Now allows Base64 encoding of Body data and Covertext data. This is useful when using non-text data for either of these values. Base64 encoding is also useful for data containing XML reserved characters (even if it is raw text). Now supports the "size" attribute in the FONT tag. For Java, see setBody in the Java Docs. Now works better with large numbers of simultaneous document submissions. Will no longer fail to get a handle to the RightFAX server due to high volume.
    - In EFM, stop the RightFAX Integration module. In Control Panel, Services (NT) or Administrative Tools, Services (Windows 2000) stop the World Wide Web Publishing service. Unzip to the appropriate drive (the zip file contains the path information). Restart the services. Note: The file RFWebCon.dll must be installed in the \InetPub\WWWRoot folder. This may or may not be on the same drive as the RightFAX installation. Note: The location of "RFJavaAPI.zip", on the RightFax Server, is just a temporary location. You will need to make sure the ".class" files in "RFJavaAPI.zip" are copied into the CLASSPATH of all the systems using the RightFax Java API. You should already have the RightFax Java API on these systems, so all you will need to do is replace the files.

Although no gateway exists on the network, the install reports that it has found existing gateway databases and attempts to follow the installer "upgrade" path rather than the installer "new install" path.
    - Also, for Notes networks containing a Domino server currently hosting a gateway, the installer always follows an upgrade path. There is no option provided during the install process to choose to install gateway databases to additional server(s).
