Captaris Names New Executive Vice President of Marketing and Product Development

Bellevue, Wash. — April 11, 2007 — Captaris, Inc. (NASDAQ:CAPA), a leading provider of software products that automate document-centric processes, announced the appointment of Paul M. Yantus
as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Product Development. Reporting to CEO and President David P. Anastasi, Yantus
will lead global marketing, product development and strategic partner development for Captaris. With his strong background
in the document management and solutions markets, Yantus will provide leadership for the company as it expands further into
key growth segments within Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Multifunction Printers (MFPs), document capture, and further
automation and management of inbound and outbound documents and the processes surrounding them.
“Paul is a hands-on leader adept at recognizing market opportunities and creating actionable business strategies to exploit
them,” said Anastasi. “He has a proven track record of maximizing revenue and earnings performance, and creating sustainable
growth through commercializing new products and services.”
Yantus was most recently President and CEO of ScanOptics, a leading provider of information capture and recognition technologies
to the financial, government, and education markets, where he led the privatization of the company and successfully repositioned
the company’s products. Prior to Scan-Optics, he founded Espire, an ASP solution for managing branded messaging, and led the
rapid growth of the Custom Communications division for MSX International. Yantus has an extensive background in capture, recognition,
and document management technologies including holding prior senior level positions with Danka Office Imaging, Lason Systems,
and Eastman Kodak.
