Benefits for United States


Captaris offers eligible US-based associates a number of excellent benefits. The United States Benefit Program includes the following:

Medical Insurance
Medical benefits are available to new associates on the first day of the month following their date of hire. The medical plan includes vision and prescription coverage. Associates may add eligible dependants, including domestic partners, to the medical plan for an additional cost.

Dental Insurance
Dental benefits, including coverage for orthodontia, are also available to new associates on the first day of the month following their date of hire. As with the medical insurance, associates may add eligible dependants, including domestic partners, to the dental plan for an additional cost.

401(k)
Associates are eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan on their first day of employment, and may defer eligible earnings into the plan, up to the current IRS dollar limit. Captaris also offers an annual discretionary match.

Disability Insurance
Captaris provides eligible associates with both short-term and long-term disability insurance which covers time-loss for non-work related injury or illness.

Life Insurance
Captaris provides associates with basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance. Additional voluntary Term Life Insurance for associates and dependants may be purchased at competitive group rates.

Flexible Spending Accounts
Our Section 125 Flexible Spending Accounts allow associates to pay for eligible expenses using pre-tax dollars. Funds may be used for dependant care and certain out-of-pocket health care expenses, including a number of over-the-counter medications. Additionally, if the associate chooses to cover dependants on the medical or dental plans, the associate’s share of these premiums may be paid with pre-tax dollars.

Personal Time Off
Captaris is dedicated to supporting programs that create balance between our associates’ work and personal life. Personal Time Off (PTO) provides associates with an opportunity for rest and relaxation. PTO is used for vacation, sick time, personal business and religious holidays.
Associates begin accruing PTO from their date of hire according to the following schedule:

  • 18 days - 0-3 years of service
  • 23 days - 3-5 years of service
  • 28 days - 5+ years of service

Holidays
Captaris honors eight paid holidays each year. Holidays include: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Day and one discretionary day based on that year's calendar.

Stock Option Grants
Although stock option grants are not offered at the time of hire, after some time with the company associates may be eligible for a stock option grant. The terms of any such grant will be subject to the relevant stock option plan.

Educational Assistance
Acknowledging the importance of continued education, Captaris offers financial assistance for approved, work-related courses. Regular, full-time associates are eligible to participate in this program after six months of employment.

Talent Referral Program
Associates are encouraged to refer top talent to our company. Referral bonus amounts vary based on the position.

Community Involvement
Volunteering is encouraged at Captaris. Associate contributions to qualified charitable and community organizations may be eligible for a corporate match.

Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program offers free, confidential assistance with many issues of daily living. Experienced professionals are available to help with practical solutions, information, support and a wide variety of assistance.

International Travel Benefits
Captaris provides associates traveling internationally with worldwide emergency assistance services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Assistance includes medical, travel and security, as well as online travel reports and information.
