Canada Benefits

 

Captaris offers eligible Canada-based associates a number of excellent benefits. The Canadian Benefits Program includes the following:

Extended Health Care
In addition to the statutory provincial health plan, Captaris offers Extended Health Care coverage to its associates. The plan covers eligible services or supplies that are medically necessary for the treatment of an illness, and includes vision and prescription coverage. Captaris pays a portion of the premiums for associates and their eligible dependants, including domestic partners.

Dental Care
Dental benefits are also available to new associates. As with the medical insurance, Captaris pays a portion of premiums for associates and their eligible dependants, including domestic partners.

Long-Term Disability Insurance
Captaris offers eligible associates long-term disability coverage which provides a benefit if you become totally disabled.

Life and AD&D Coverage
Captaris offers Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage to eligible associates. The Life insurance also provides coverage for eligible dependants.

Vacation
Associates are entitled to two weeks vacation leave per year, during their first three years of employment. Vacation is handled on a calendar year basis and is prorated for the year employment commences or ends. After being employed for three years, Associates are entitled to three weeks vacation leave per year, prorated for the balance of the year the Associate reaches his or her third year of employment. Associates are required to take their holidays by the end of the following year in which they are earned.

Holidays
Captaris honors eleven paid holidays per year. Part-time Associates will be paid vacation pay on a pro-rata basis. Captaris recognizes the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Alberta Family Day
  • Good Friday
  • Victoria Day
  • Canada Day
  • August Long Weekend
  • Labour Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Remembrance Day*
  • Christmas Day
  • Boxing Day

*Remembrance Day ~ While Captaris recognizes Remembrance Day, generally our office will remain open for normal business. All Associates have the option of working this day. Captaris generally closes the office for an additional day around Christmas in lieu of Remembrance Day. Associates who observe Remembrance Day will be required to work on the designated day in lieu of or be required to take a vacation day. If Remembrance Day falls on a weekend, then the day in lieu will be a day around Christmas.

Stock Option Grants
From time to time and at the sole discretion of Captaris, Associates and Managers may be eligible for a stock option grant. The terms of any such grant will be subject to the relevant stock option plan.

Talent Referral Program
Associates are encouraged to refer top talent to our company. Referral bonus amounts vary by position.

International Travel Benefits
Captaris provides associates traveling outside of their home province with worldwide emergency assistance services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Assistance includes medical, travel and security, as well as online travel reports and information.

Benefits are subject to change. Additional information will be provided by Human Resources upon the employment start date.
