Not able to login to Captaris server from client (Desktop version)

    Hi

We have installed Captaris client (desktop) version in our machines. But when we try to login using any of the client options like "User Administration", "Manager", "IDE" we get below specified error. We are not able to login to the utility / tool.

Just for your information, all our web servers are residing behind the firewall, Is that we need to open any ports to get connected to captaris workflow v6.5 from client? If so can you provide us the list of all the port that needs to be opened in the Firewall, we will request our Networking / Implementation team to do this.

I am not able to attached the screen shot of the error details, can you please provide me the permission to do this, so that in future i can attache screen shots for your reference.

    Error message details:

Re: Not able to login to Captaris server from client (Desktop version)

    Hi Anil,

Captaris Workflow uses two ports below:

    1. 8085 (TCP)
    2. 8086 (HTTP)

So I would recommend that on your workflow firewall you have these two ports open. Also the error that you have sent me looks like a DNS issue. Try connecting to the workflow server using IP. Also you can add your workflow server name in your host file on the client to see if you can reach the server. Make sure your Captaris SWS service is running on the workflow server. Then try logging to the workflow from the server using TCP rather  localhost. If you are getting the same error then definitely your ports are blocked. You can use applications like Active ports to monitor the blocked ports. But to me the error seems to be a DNS issue on your network or workflow server. The installation steps looks fine to me.

If you need further help on this please contact support@captaris.com or call 520-320-7070(Mon-Fri 6am-6pm Mountain Standard Time).

    Thanks
